Anja Hötschl is a Researcher at the Department of Protestant Theology, Faculty of Protestant Theology, Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich. She serves as an assistant to the W3 Professorship for Old Testament Studies held by Univ. Prof. Dr. Friedhelm Hartenstein and is associated with the Office of the Evangelical Theological Seminary.
Her research focuses on Old Testament Studies and Biblical Exegesis, with expertise spanning Theology and Religious Studies. Hötschl specializes in methodological approaches to biblical texts, bridging traditional theological inquiry with contemporary exegetical techniques. Her scholarly work examines historical-critical methods and their application to modern theological contexts.
At Ludwig Maximilian University, Hötschl teaches courses including Introduction to the exegetical methods of the Old Testament (course number 02019) and Bible Studies Old Testament (course number 02021) for the Winter Semester 2025/26, demonstrating her commitment to theological education and student mentorship in biblical studies.
