Anja Giudici is a Lecturer in Education at Cardiff University's School of Social Sciences, where she joined in August 2024. She previously held positions at Newcastle University, the University of Oxford, and the University of Zurich, with visiting roles at the European University Institute, Sciences Po, and the University of Oxford. Her research focuses on the politics of education, particularly how ideologies, professional interests, and cultural diversity shape education systems. She employs comparative and historical methods to trace policy dynamics and their societal impacts, including projects on far-right education policies and privatization effects on support staff. Her work has been funded by institutions like the Swiss National Science Foundation and earned the 2024 CIES Bereday Award for her co-authored article on intergenerational mobility.
Education: PhD in Education (summa cum laude, 2019), MA in Education, Political Science, and Gender Studies (2012), BA in Education, Political Science, and Social Anthropology (2009) from the University of Zurich.
Research Themes: Politics of education, history of education, language policy, far-right ideologies. Current projects examine territorial inequalities in Europe and global privatization impacts on educational workers.
