Anita Guerra is a Professor of Visual Arts at Temple University Rome. Born in Havana, Cuba, she holds MF.A and B.F.A degrees in Painting (cum laude) from Tyler School of Art/Temple University, with additional study in Italy. Her work explores migration, identity, and cultural fragmentation through paintings and multi-media installations on unconventional surfaces like gauze and found objects.

Her recent exhibitions include the 2024 "Biennale di Amelia" and group shows like "Conversations" (2024) at Temple University Rome. She was awarded the 2024 Emily Harvey Foundation Artist Residency and Temple's 2018 Presidential Humanities and Arts Award for research trips to Cuba.
