Anita Chari is an Associate Professor in the Department of Political Science at the University of Oregon's Clark Honors College. She is a political theorist, somatic practitioner, and writer whose research bridges Critical Theory, Western Marxism, and embodied practices.

Her research focuses on the Frankfurt School, reification in Marxist theory, and the political implications of somatic and contemplative practices. She explores how embodiment practices can resist neoliberal structures and inform contemporary art.
Recent publications include the book A User's Manual to Claire Fontaine (2024) and chapters in Contemporanea: A Glossary of the XXI Century (2024) and Bodies in Politics (2024). Her work spans political theory, philosophy, and interdisciplinary studies of art and somatics.
Chari co-founded Embodying Your Curriculum™, an organization integrating embodiment practices into higher education. She is available for advising via Zoom or in-person office hours at the University of Oregon.
