Dr. Anish Shah is a Research Fellow at Murdoch University's School of Agricultural Sciences within the College of Environmental and Life Sciences. His research focuses on microbial ecology with emphasis on plant-soil-microbe interactions, climate change mitigation, and food security solutions through improved plant health. He holds a PhD in Microbial Ecology from Lincoln University where he studied legume nodule microbiomes.
His current research investigates microbiome dynamics in horticultural crops including tomatoes, potatoes and avocados to enhance resilience against environmental stresses. Dr. Shah's work integrates cutting-edge molecular techniques with ecological theory to develop sustainable agricultural practices.
Recent publications demonstrate strong focus on rhizosphere microbiomes, nitrogen-cycling bacteria, and environmental DNA applications. His work consistently addresses practical solutions for pathogen control and soil health improvement under changing climate conditions.
