Anil Nagar, MD, is an Associate Professor of Medicine (Digestive Diseases) at Yale School of Medicine and a member of Yale Medicine’s advanced endoscopy team. With over 20 years of experience, he specializes in gastroenterology, particularly advanced endoscopic procedures for pancreatic and biliary disorders, Barrett’s esophagus, and gastrointestinal cancers. He is a leading expert in minimally invasive techniques like Endoscopic Submucosal Dissection (ESD) and Peroral Endoscopic Myotomy (POEM) for treating GI conditions.
Dr. Nagar completed his MD at Saint John’s Medical College and Hospital and his residency and fellowship at Bridgeport Hospital. He has been integral in training gastroenterology fellows at Yale for over two decades. His research focuses on endoscopic innovations, colorectal neoplasia, and pancreatic diseases, with publications in journals like Gastroenterology and the Journal of Clinical Oncology.
His clinical work emphasizes patient-centered care, with expertise in ERCP, EUS/FNA, and managing GI cancers. He also contributed to studies on chemotherapy regimens, post-polypectomy surveillance, and disparities in pancreatic cancer outcomes.
