Aniko Szabo, PhD, is a Professor and Director of the Biostatistics Consulting Center at the Medical College of Wisconsin. Her research focuses on statistical modeling of biomedical data, including cancer screening analysis, oncogenesis, and translational research across cellular assays, animal studies, observational trials, and clinical policy evaluation. She holds a PhD in Applied Statistics from the University of Memphis (1998) and an MS in Mathematics from Eötvös University, Budapest (1994).
Dr. Szabo’s work spans diverse biomedical areas: analyzing PCR/microarray data, developing oncogenesis tree models, nonparametric clustering methods, and population-level screening impact models. She collaborates across disciplines, contributing to studies on trauma pain management, radiation-induced cardiac damage, multiple myeloma immunotherapies, sleep deprivation effects on opioid withdrawal, and bariatric surgery outcomes. Her 2025 publications include studies on teclistamab/talquetamab treatment patterns (Blood Cancer J), ketamine efficacy in trauma patients (J Trauma Acute Care Surg), and CAR-T cell innovations for mantle cell lymphoma (J Clin Oncol).
Her leadership includes directing the Biostatistics Consulting Service, supporting translational research from bench to clinical practice. Notable recent work addresses social determinants of health in oncology and quality improvement initiatives for sleep apnea monitoring. These efforts bridge statistical rigor with clinical relevance, impacting both patient care and policy decisions.
