Anica ILIE

Univ. Prof. Dr. Eng. Anica ILIE is a tenured Professor in the Department of Thermotechnics and Thermal Equipment at the Faculty of Installation Engineering, Bucharest University of Civil Engineering (UTCB). She has served as Deputy Director of the INSIST Laboratory (accredited under SR EN ISO 17025) since 2002 and contributed to the PEPMC Laboratory accreditation in 2022. Her teaching portfolio spans Refrigeration Installations, Heat Pumps, Cryogenics, and specialized Master's courses in Energy Efficiency and Environmental Protection.

Her educational background includes a Doctorate in Mechanical Engineering with "cum laude" distinction from the "Dunarea de Jos" University of Galati (2001), focusing on heat and mass transfer in ammonia refrigeration condensers. She maintains professional certifications as a Grade I Energy Auditor (license BA-00826) and Thermal Installations Project Verifier (license D-09263).

Prof. ILIE's research centers on thermal system optimization, with emphasis on refrigerant replacement for ozone protection, energy consumption analysis in cold chains, and thermal insulation for refrigerated buildings. Her work integrates renewable energy solutions like solar-powered absorption systems and investigates microchannel heat exchangers for ammonia-based refrigeration. She actively addresses environmental impact through life-cycle cost analysis and sustainable refrigeration technologies.

She directs the Thermal Systems Research Center (SITER) and has led significant projects including the PN II Capacitati experimental stand for thermal-hydraulic processes (2007) and MENER solar energy conversion research (2002). Her consultancy portfolio includes Metro/AUCHAN logistics centers, REC IMMPULS depot evaluations, and KÖBER heat pump development for R32 refrigerant.

Prof. ILIE has executed approximately 3000 energy certificates, 1000 energy audits, and verified 400 thermal installation projects. Her laboratory expertise spans testing thermal equipment performance and developing technical guidelines for refrigeration construction compliance.
