Ani Landau-Ward is a Lecturer and Researcher at RMIT University's School of Global Urban and Social Studies (GUSS) in Melbourne, Australia. She holds an MA in International and Community Development and an undergraduate degree in Built Environment (Architecture), and is pursuing a part-time PhD in Law and Society. Her work bridges academia and practice, with over a decade of experience in teaching and interdisciplinary urban research.
Research focuses on intersections of property law, emerging technologies, and governance, particularly regarding Indigenous land justice, digital transformations in housing, and treaty implementation. She collaborates extensively with RMIT’s Centre for Urban Research on projects funded by ARC, AHURI, and RMIT. Methodologies include qualitative approaches like yarning circles, policy analysis, and socio-legal frameworks.
Teaching spans urban governance, international development, and sociology across undergraduate and postgraduate programs. Current roles include coordinating the Honours Capstone Research Project for Urban and Regional Planning. Her pedagogical approach emphasizes inclusive, intellectually rigorous learning environments.
Key collaborations include projects on Indigenous land governance pathways, university Treaty responsibilities, and built-to-rent housing models. Ongoing scholarly work examines transnational land administration practices through Science and Technology Studies (STS) and jurisprudence lenses.
