Angelos Bletsas is a Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the Technical University of Crete, affiliated with the Telecommunications Laboratory. He holds a Diploma from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (1998), an MS (2001) and PhD (2005) from MIT, and has worked at Mitsubishi Electric Research Laboratories and Aristotle University before joining TUC in 2009.
Research Focus: His work spans wireless communications with emphasis on relay networks, backscatter radios, RFID systems, and ultra-low-cost sensor networks. Additional expertise includes signal processing for telecommunications, embedded system design, and time/frequency metrology.

Teaching & Advising: Teaches undergraduate/graduate courses including Analysis & Design of Telecommunications Devices and Detection & Estimation. Secured substantial research funding primarily supporting postgraduate students.
Laboratory Affiliation: Leads research at the Telecommunications Laboratory, focusing on practical implementations of low-cost communication systems.
