Angelina Saucedo serves as an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Marriage & Family Therapy at Pacific Oaks College, with campus locations in Pasadena and online instruction. She brings extensive clinical experience to her academic role, specializing in marriage and family therapy with particular expertise in trauma-informed care.
Education Background:
- AA/General Education from East Los Angeles College, Monterey Park (2005)
- BA/Psychology from California State University Long Beach (2007)
- MA/Clinical Psychology with an Emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Pepperdine University, Los Angeles (2009)
Her research and clinical interests focus on family violence, intimate partner violence, marriage and family relationships, mental health disorders including anxiety, mood disorders, and depression. As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in California, she emphasizes trauma-informed evidence-based practices and has developed specialized programs including Empowerment groups for domestic violence survivors and anti-bullying initiatives for children. Her work consistently addresses mental health disparities in underserved communities, reflecting her commitment to broadening access to mental health services.
As a third generation Mexican American raised in a blue-collar family, Saucedo brings important representation to academia while maintaining an active clinical practice where she primarily serves insurance clients including Medi-Cal members who might otherwise lack resources for therapy.
