Angela Schröder

Prof. Angela Schröder is a Professor of Social Work at the Hamburg Distance Learning University, leading the Social Work (BA) program. Her professional background includes roles as Acting Professor (2019-2020), Research Assistant (2018-2019), and Managing Director of healthcompany GmbH (2007-2018). She holds a doctorate in health sciences from TU Dresden (2004-2008) and a diploma in Health Sciences from Hamburg University of Applied Sciences (2000-2003). Her research focuses on family support systems, refugee integration, and early childhood education, with projects funded by the German Federal Ministry for Family Affairs (BMFSFJ) and the German Red Cross (DRK). Key projects include evaluations of intercultural openness programs and initiatives to strengthen parental support networks for refugee families.

Her educational training includes a nursing apprenticeship (1982-1985) and further qualifications as a specialist nurse in intensive care (1996-1998). She has conducted research at the University of Sheffield (2006) and co-authored numerous publications on social work practices, health promotion, and preventive measures in education systems. She is a member of the German Society for Social Work (DGSA).
