Angela Peace is an Associate Professor in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Texas Tech University (TTU). Her research focuses on mathematical modeling of biological systems, including population dynamics, ecological stoichiometry, and disease transmission. She holds a PhD in Mathematical and Statistical Sciences from Arizona State University (2014) and previously served as a postdoctoral fellow at the National Institute for Mathematical and Biological Synthesis (NIMBioS).
Her work spans ecological toxicology, epidemiology, and theoretical ecology, with a particular emphasis on integrating nutrient cycling and environmental factors into mathematical frameworks. She has led or co-led multiple NSF-funded grants, including studies on ecotoxicological dynamics, vector-borne disease modeling, and salamander fungal pathogen transmission.
Key grants include:
- NSF 1615697: $341k for ecotoxicological modeling with stoichiometric constraints
- NSF 1815750: $80k for pharmacokinetic-epidemiological links in vector-borne diseases
- NSF 1814520: $165k role in batrachochytrium salamandrivorans pathogen research
- TTU Seed Grant: $75k for interdisciplinary research linking science and education
Her research highlights include modeling malaria transmission under climate variables, analyzing ranavirus ecology, and exploring vaccination-treatment synergies in age-structured populations. She actively collaborates across disciplines, bridging mathematics with ecology, toxicology, and public health.
