Dr. Angela Lin is a Lecturer at the University of Sheffield's School of Information, Journalism and Communication. She holds a BA from Leeds, an MSc from the London School of Economics, and a PhD from LSE. Her research focuses on information systems management, digital transformation, e-commerce, and IoT applications. She leads the 'Internet of Everything' research project (2013-2014) and is a member of the Information, Knowledge and Innovation Management Research Group.
Teaching responsibilities include undergraduate modules on information systems and digital economy topics, and postgraduate coordination of E-business/E-commerce and Information Systems in Organizations. She emphasizes socio-technical perspectives in teaching, integrating industry insights through collaborations.
Key research areas include IS project risk management, e-government infrastructure, online consumer behavior, and smart supply chain management. Her work has been published in journals like Health Informatics Journal, Information Processing and Management, and Scientometrics.
Dr. Lin advises PhD candidates in IS, digital transformation, and IoT. She has supervised projects on e-procurement systems, ERP adoption in SMEs, and IoT-enabled supply chains. Current and past students include Bedour Alboloushi (administrative innovation in public sector), Raudah Danila (Malaysian e-filing systems), and Nipon Parinyavuttichai (IS risk escalation).
Her research explores the intersection of technology and organizational practices, with recent work on artificial serendipity in online markets and citation-based publication evaluation using machine learning.
