Angela Lederach

Dr. Angela Lederach is an Assistant Professor in Peace Studies at Chapman University's Wilkinson College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences. Her office is located in Argyros Forum 202C where she holds regular hours. She earned her Bachelor of Arts, Master of Arts, and Ph.D. all from the University of Notre Dame.

Her research examines peacebuilding through multispecies ethnography in Colombia, focusing on:

• Interconnections between violent conflict and environmental degradation
• Grassroots reconciliation processes in Montes de María region
• Territorial peace frameworks bridging human and non-human relations
• Youth-led initiatives in post-conflict transformation
• Ethnographic approaches to transitional justice

Publications demonstrate consistent focus on slow peace, environmental care, and community-based reconciliation in Colombia across anthropology and peace studies domains. Her 2023 book establishes theoretical foundations for ecologies of peace, while articles explore applied dimensions from land-based pedagogy to ethical fieldwork practices.
