Dr. Angela Leahy is a full-time lecturer in the School of Applied Language & Intercultural Studies at Dublin City University. She teaches German Language, Year Abroad programs, and Language in Education at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Her research focuses on Deutsch als Fremdsprache (German as a Foreign Language), Language Awareness, Textbook Analysis, and the role of the Year Abroad in language learning.
Her work bridges theoretical and applied linguistics, emphasizing practical classroom applications. Notable contributions include co-editing Intercultural Spaces: Language, Culture and Identity (2007) and publishing on linguistic landscape analysis in educational contexts (2019). Dr. Leahy has organized key conferences like the German Studies Association of Ireland (GSAI) annual events, fostering dialogue on innovative language teaching methods. She currently supervises doctoral research in Language Teaching and Learning.
