Angela Crumdy is a Provost Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Education (GSE), specializing in the Policy, Organizations, Leadership, and Systems division. Previously a high school English teacher in Dallas, Texas, she bridges anthropology and education through ethnographic research on teachers' social dynamics and systemic impacts.
Education & Background:
- PhD focused on Black women educators in Cuba (Wenner-Gren funded)
Research Focus: Explores teacher retention, social reproduction theory, and the experiences of Black educators across the US and Spanish-speaking Caribbean. Current projects examine educational pathways of Cubans on the island and in diaspora communities.
