Angela Cornell is a Clinical Professor at Cornell Law School and serves as the founding director of the Labor Law Clinic. She also holds a position as a Faculty Associate with the Latin American and Caribbean Studies program at Cornell University.
Professor Cornell has extensive experience in labor law, having served as Labor Commissioner on the New Mexico Labor and Industrial Commission, nominated by Gov. Bill Richardson, and on the Albuquerque Personnel Board. She was previously a partner in a law firm specializing in labor and employment law and immigration law.
Her research focuses on labor law, employment law, immigrant workers, international labor law, and human rights. She has conducted international work with trainings and presentations in the Dominican Republic, Nicaragua, Mexico, Venezuela, Chile, and Brazil, and has argued before the Inter-American Court of Human Rights in Costa Rica.
Professor Cornell's scholarly work examines the intersection of labor rights and democracy, workers' collective rights in the United States, and international labor standards. Her publications span from contemporary analyses of labor movements to historical examinations of labor law's evolution.
