Angela Brown is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Athletic Training at the School of Health and Human Sciences, South Dakota State University (SDSU), since Fall 2023. She holds an M.S. in Kinesiology and Health from the University of Wyoming (2008) and a B.S. in Athletic Training from SDSU (2006). Her professional experience includes 12 years as a temporary instructor at SDSU, teaching courses such as EXS 354: Prevention and Care of Athletic Injuries and AT 611: Prophylactic Interventions, alongside lab supervision. She also worked as an athletic trainer at Avera Sports/Brookings High School from 2011–2023.
Her research and scholarly interests focus on athletic injury prevention, functional movement analysis, and evidence-based practices in athletic training. She is a certified athletic trainer (BOC since 2006) and licensed in South Dakota since 2009. Angela actively participates in professional organizations, including the National Athletic Training Association.
Key honors include the South Dakota Athletic Training Association Teacher of the Year (2019). She oversees courses like HLTH 250: Basic Life Support and coordinates labs in functional movement and injury prevention. Her office is located in Wagner Hall 107, Brookings, SD.
