Angela Aidala, PhD, is an Associate Research Scientist in the Department of Sociomedical Sciences at Columbia University’s Mailman School of Public Health. Her work focuses on HIV/AIDS, homelessness, urban health, and public health systems. She earned a BA from Miami University (1967) and a PhD from Columbia University (1980).
Key research interests include housing interventions for vulnerable populations, food policy, substance use, and global health equity. Her projects, such as the CHAIN and FUSE initiatives, have shaped HIV service planning and homelessness policy. She serves on the editorial board of AIDS & Behavior and has received awards including the William Foote Whyte Award (2017) and the Key Award for AIDS and Homelessness advocacy (2012).
