Angel Gerardo Velazquez Lopez

Angel Gerardo Velazquez Lopez is a Professor in the Department of Fluid Mechanics and Aerospace Propulsion at Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM) since 2011. He has over two decades of professional experience in academia and industry, including roles at the European Space Agency (ESA-ESTEC), SENER Aerospace Division, and Gamesa Eólica.

• Education: Doctor in Mechanical Engineering (University of Sevilla, 1986).
• Professional Roles: Postdoctoral Fellow (Hiroshima University, 1986-1988); Research Scientist (ESA-ESTEC, 1988-1990); Project Manager (SENER, 1990-2003); Head of Engineering Office (Gamesa Eólica, 2003); Joined UPM in 2004.

Research Focus: His work spans droplet dynamics, flow mixing and heat transfer, and energy harvesting from hydroelastic instabilities. He leads the Thermofluiddynamic Systems and Microsystems research group since 2008.
