Anette Kolmos
Professor in Engineering Education and Problem-Based Learning (PBL) at Aalborg University's Department of Sustainability and Planning within The Technical Faculty of IT and Design. Former UNESCO Chair (2007–2014) and Founding Director of the UNESCO Category 2 Centre for Problem-Based Learning in Engineering Science and Sustainability (2014–2023). Guest Professor at KTH Royal Institute of Technology (2012–2017) and Past President of SEFI (2009–2011).
Research focuses on PBL methodologies, interdisciplinary education, employability, and sustainability in engineering. Key contributions include over 310 publications, 20+ supervised PhD students, and leadership in global educational initiatives like the Aalborg Certificate program.
Recipient of the Leonardo da Vinci Medal (2023), IFEES Global Award (2013), and SEFI Fellowship (2015). Active in international organizations including SEFI and UNESCO, with projects addressing curriculum innovation, faculty development, and interdisciplinary teamwork.
