Andy Raich

Andy Raich is a Professor and Undergraduate Coordinator in the Department of Mathematical Sciences at the University of Arkansas. He has been at the University since 2008, progressing from Assistant Professor to Associate Professor and currently serving as Professor since Fall 2018. His academic journey includes visiting positions at Universidade Federal de São Carlos, University of Cambridge, and the Erwin Schrodinger International Institute for Mathematical Physics.

Raich's research focuses on Several Complex Variables, Partial Differential Equations, and Harmonic Analysis. His work centers on CR geometry, the complex Green operator, heat equations on quadric manifolds, and boundary value problems in complex analysis. His research program investigates fundamental solutions to the $\Box_b$ operator, closed range properties of $\bar\partial_b$, and global regularity questions in abstract CR manifolds.

His publication record shows consistent high-impact output with recent work examining distributions with decay properties, boundary invariants, and asymptotic analysis on quadric manifolds. The research demonstrates sophisticated interplay between geometric analysis, functional analysis, and partial differential equations, with particular emphasis on Fourier analytic techniques and microlocal methods.

He actively mentors students and has developed outreach programs including the Celebration of the Mind math fair for K-12 students and the M-SEA program for underrepresented minorities in geosciences.
