Andy Draycott is a Professor of Theology at the Talbot School of Theology, Biola University. He holds academic affiliations with the Evangelical Theological Society, Kirby Laing Institute for Christian Ethics, and the Society for the Study of Christian Ethics. Dr. Draycott specializes in theological studies, focusing on the interdisciplinary integration of faith and learning. He earned a Ph.D. from the University of Aberdeen, an M.Litt from the University of St Andrews, and an M.St. and M.A. from the University of Oxford.
His research explores the theological, spiritual, and cultural legacy of John Bunyan’s The Pilgrim’s Progress, analyzing its reception in graphic novels, missionary outreach, gender studies, race relations, popular music, and homeschooling curricula. He has also examined evangelical social action in Brazil, theology of immigration, church and disability, and the theologian Dietrich Bonhoeffer.
Dr. Draycott’s recent publications include studies on the symbolic interpretation of Bunyan’s work, the role of graphic novels in religious storytelling, and contemporary adaptations of The Pilgrim’s Progress in post-secular contexts. His work bridges theological scholarship with practical applications in education and missional ethics.
