Andrés Velasco

Andrés Velasco is Dean of the School of Public Policy at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). Formerly, he served as Chile's Minister of Finance (2006–2010) and held academic positions at Columbia University and Harvard Kennedy School. He specializes in macroeconomics, economic policy, populism, and development. His research explores fiscal policy, inflation targeting, and crisis management in emerging economies. He has authored over 100 academic articles and books, including Liberalismo en Tiempos de Cólera and Contra la Desigualdad.
