Andrés García-Rengifo is a doctoral fellow of the HYT Young Academy and a research associate at the University of Siegen, affiliated with the Chair of the History of Philosophy under Univ.-Prof. Dr. Mario Meliadò. His work bridges medieval philosophy, manuscript studies, and colonial intellectual history.
Research interests:
- 15th-century European philosophy
- Theories of the soul and epistemology
- Philosophy of memory and images
- Late medieval mysticism (Meister Eckhart, Nicholas of Cusa)
- Iberian Neoscholasticism
- Transmission of Latin manuscripts in Spanish colonies
Recent work trends include interdisciplinary studies of theological-poetic synthesis, metaphysical interpretations of darkness, and comparative analysis of Nicholas of Cusa and John Wenck's philosophical frameworks. His research spans manuscript studies, palaeography, and the reception of early modern philosophy in Hispanic America.
