معرفی
Dr. Andréanne Lupien is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology at McGill University and a Junior Scientist at the Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC), affiliated with the Centre for Translational Biology and the Infectious Diseases and Immunity in Global Health Program. Her academic and research roles are centered on addressing critical challenges in infectious diseases, particularly tuberculosis and non-tuberculous mycobacterial infections.
Research Interests:
- Development of novel treatments against Mycobacterium tuberculosis and non-tuberculous mycobacteria
- Mechanisms of drug resistance in mycobacteria
- Optimization of tuberculosis preventive therapies for latent infections
- Drug discovery from hit identification to pre-clinical validation
- Molecular biology of mycobacterial pathogenesis
Her work spans the entire drug development pipeline, from identifying new chemical scaffolds to validating their efficacy in pre-clinical models. She employs molecular biology, genomics, and proteomics approaches to dissect resistance mechanisms and identify vulnerable drug targets in mycobacteria.
Publication Highlights:
Dr. Lupien's research output is prolific, with 15+ recent publications in leading journals such as PLoS Pathogens, Cell Reports, Nature Communications, and Antimicrobial Agents and Chemotherapy. Her work consistently addresses urgent global health needs, including multidrug-resistant tuberculosis and emerging mycobacterial pathogens. A recurring theme across her articles is the integration of genomic and proteomic data to inform therapeutic strategies.
Laboratory and Affiliations:
She conducts her research within the RI-MUHC's state-of-the-art facilities, leveraging the institute's containment level 3 tuberculosis labs and advanced molecular imaging platforms. Her team collaborates extensively with international partners, including the University of Zurich and the Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute.
