Dr. André Diegmann is a Research Fellow at the Halle Institute for Economic Research (IWH), leading the Research Group 'Firm Dynamics and Employment Outcomes' since March 2021. He holds a PhD from the University of Mannheim (2017) and previously worked at ZEW, IAB, and the German Council of Economic Experts. His research focuses on empirical labor economics, firm dynamics, public policy impacts, and the economics of crime.
Key affiliations include the IWH’s Department of Structural Change and Productivity, and he maintains a junior research associate role at ZEW’s 'Labour Markets and Social Insurance' unit. Notable achievements include the 2018 'Best Dissertation' award from the Volksbank Weinheim Foundation.
His work bridges applied microeconometrics with policy analysis, addressing topics like criminal behavior deterrence, labor market outcomes, and firm-level productivity responses to employment targets.
