András Bátkai

Prof. András Bátkai is a Professor of Mathematics at the Vorarlberg Teacher Training College in Austria. His research focuses on the societal, didactic, and philosophical aspects of mathematics, collaborating extensively with Prof. Gregor Nickel of the University of Siegen. Their work explores ethical implications of mathematical applications in finance, law, and technology, alongside the historical development of mathematical disciplines. Bátkai is particularly interested in revitalizing the legacy of George Pólya's didactic methods in mathematics education.

His current initiatives include an Erasmus exchange program between Vorarlberg and Siegen for teaching students and faculty, leveraging similarities in their teacher training programs. Bátkai has been supported by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation through the Research Alumni Programme, enabling collaborative research and visits between institutions.
