Andrey Fradkin is an Assistant Professor of Marketing at the Questrom School of Business, Boston University, and holds the title of Dean’s Research Scholar. His research focuses on digitization, search and matching markets, and online platforms such as Airbnb. He explores topics ranging from algorithmic design to behavioral economics in digital environments.
Before joining Boston University, he served as a Postdoctoral Fellow at MIT’s Initiative on the Digital Economy. He earned his Ph.D. in Economics from Stanford University while working as a data scientist at Airbnb. His work bridges economics and computer science, appearing in top journals like the American Economic Review and ACM-EC.
Fradkin’s research has informed policy discussions at the Federal Trade Commission and the President’s Council on Science and Technology. He leads the IRB study IRB21-1677 and manages the Facebook Page “Study by Researchers at Harvard & BU.” His recent studies analyze platform competition, consumer protection, and the societal impacts of AI and digital markets.
