معرفی
Andrew Webber is a Professor in the School of Life Sciences at Arizona State University (ASU), serving as a Senior Global Futures Scientist. He has held administrative roles including Director of the Center for the Study of Early Events in Photosynthesis (2000-2003), Associate Director of the School of Life Sciences (2003-2005), and Vice Provost of ASU's Graduate College (2005-2016). His research focuses on photosynthetic mechanisms and later shifted to algal biotechnology for wastewater treatment and bioproducts. He earned a PhD and BSc in Biology and Biological Chemistry from the University of Essex, UK.
Research interests include the molecular mechanisms of photosynthetic energy transduction, structure-function relationships in Photosystem I, and genetic engineering of Chlamydomonas reinhardtii. Recent work emphasizes algal biotechnology applications. Over 50 peer-reviewed articles highlight his contributions to photosynthesis and biotechnology. He serves on NSF panels and as Associate Editor for Photosynthesis Research and PLoS One.
Key grants include the NSF IGERT Solar Utilization Network (2012-2017), SFAz Graduate Research Fellowships (2010-2014), and USDA-funded studies on electron transfer in Photosystem I. His teaching includes Plant Physiology (BIO 308) and Special Topics (BIO 598).
