Andrew V. Abela is the Dean and Ordinary Professor of Marketing at The Catholic University of America’s Busch School of Business. He is a faculty affiliate at Harvard University’s Human Flourishing Program and a Forbes contributor. His research focuses on marketing ethics, Catholic Social Doctrine, and internal communication, with publications in top journals like Journal of Marketing and Journal of Business Ethics. He holds a Ph.D. from the Darden School of Business, an MBA from IMD Switzerland, and a B.Sc. from the University of Toronto.
Dr. Abela’s work bridges business ethics and faith-based principles, addressing topics like consumerism, just wage theory, and marketing integrity. He has authored books such as Super Habits and A Catechism for Business, and received the 2009 Novak Award for contributions to religion and economic liberty. Prior to academia, he worked at Procter & Gamble, McKinsey & Company, and the Corporate Executive Board’s Marketing Leadership Council.
His teaching includes courses like MSBA 505: The Spirit of Enterprise and HSSS 101: The Person in Society. He advises Fortune 100 corporations on internal communications and frequently presents on ethical leadership, presentation design, and business ethics at global conferences.
