معرفی
Andrew Toseland is a Senior Research Fellow at the School of Environmental Sciences, University of East Anglia. His research focuses on marine microbial ecology, biogeochemical cycles, and the evolutionary adaptations of phytoplankton in response to environmental changes. He has led projects funded by the Natural Environment Research Council, including a study on temperature impacts on Arctic phytoplankton (2013–2016). His work spans interdisciplinary collaborations, such as the MOSAiC expedition analyzing Arctic Ocean ecosystems.
Key research interests include diatom genomics, microbial community dynamics, and the role of trace metals in marine organisms. His studies highlight adaptations to iron limitation and biogeochemical processes in polar regions. Toseland has co-authored 8 peer-reviewed articles, with topics ranging from xanthorhodopsin's role in diatom productivity to the biogeography of ocean microbiomes.
His research contributes to understanding climate-driven shifts in marine ecosystems and has been cited in major journals like Nature Microbiology and Nature Communications. Collaborations include international teams studying Arctic and global ocean systems, leveraging genomic and metaomic approaches to explore microbial diversity and function.
