Dr Andrew Tallon is an Associate Professor of Urban Geography and Programme Leader for BA (Hons) Geography at the University of the West of England (UWE), Bristol, UK. His academic career spans urban regeneration, policy, gentrification, and cultural aspects of urban development, with a focus on globalisation and socio-economic inequality.
- Education: BA (Hons) Geography (Swansea University, 1995-1998); PhD (Swansea University, 1998-2002).
His research explores the interplay between urban regeneration, public-private partnerships, and territorial cohesion in Europe. Key thematic interests include:
- Urban economics
- Housing-led and retail-led regeneration
- Cultural and creative urban renewal
- Socio-economic inequality in globalisation
- The role of carnivals and creativity in urban development
He has led two major international projects: PARCOUR (2015-2018, ESRC-funded) on public-private urban regeneration partnerships and COHSMO (2017-2021, Horizon 2020) examining socio-economic inequality and urbanisation in Europe.

He serves as Editor of the International Journal of Urban Regeneration and Renewal (since 2010) and holds leadership roles in the Bristol Branch of the Geographical Association (Co-President since 2022). His community engagement includes chairing the Carnivals in Somerset Promotion Project (since 2011).
