Andrew Sturrock

Andrew Sturrock is a Lecturer in the Department of Pharmacy Practice within the School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Sunderland. Having completed his doctoral thesis in 2020 titled 'The role of the pharmacist in the promotion of Oral health and the interprofessional Prevention of medication-related Osteonecrosis of the jaw (mronj)', his academic career is firmly rooted at Sunderland where he continues to contribute to research, teaching, and professional practice development.

Dr. Sturrock's research interests center on the expanding role of pharmacists in oral healthcare, particularly focusing on medication-related osteonecrosis of the jaw (MRONJ), interprofessional collaboration between pharmacists and dentists, community pharmacy practice, antimicrobial stewardship, and healthcare education. His work bridges clinical practice and academic research, with a strong emphasis on qualitative methodologies to understand healthcare provider and patient perspectives.
