Andrew Rothgery is a Senior Instructor II (mapped to Senior Lecturer) of Spanish in the Romance Languages department at the Schnitzer School of Global Studies and Languages, University of Oregon. Education:
Andrew Rothgery completed both his Bachelor of Arts (1991) and Master of Arts (1994) at the University of Oregon.
Research Interests:
His scholarly work encompasses diverse areas including social justice frameworks, preservation of indigenous languages and cultures (with emphasis on the Maya in Guatemala and Mexico), creative writing, and the study of subversive artistic expressions in literature, film, and protest music. Additional foci include guitar traditions, heritage language dynamics, Chicano literature, humanistic studies, and the documentation of oral histories and narratives.
