Andrew Roddick

Andrew Roddick is an Associate Professor in the Department of Anthropology at McMaster University. His research bridges anthropological archaeology, social theory, and rigorous methodology, focusing on the Late Formative (200 BC–600 AD), Middle Horizon (600–1000 AD) in the South-Central Andes, and the Great Lakes region of Ontario (Late Woodland to 17th-century Neutral/Attawandaron periods).

These projects emphasize craft production, food sovereignty, and urbanism during periods of sociopolitical turbulence.

Recent publications (2016–2024) highlight his expertise in ceramic analysis, Bayesian chronology, visual anthropology, and collaborative archaeology. Key journals include the Journal of Archaeological Method and Theory, Latin American Antiquity, and Quaternary Science Reviews.
