Andrew Morris is Professor of Statistical Genetics in the Division of Musculoskeletal & Dermatological Sciences at the University of Manchester. His research focuses on genetic determinants of complex diseases using large-scale genomic approaches. He leads projects investigating blood pressure regulation, type 2 diabetes heterogeneity, and cross-ancestry genetic imputation methods.
Research interests center on statistical genetics methodologies including genome-wide association studies (GWAS), genetic risk prediction, and multi-omics integration. His work bridges computational biology and clinical applications in cardiometabolic diseases.
Recent publications demonstrate strong focus on transcriptome analysis, polygenic risk scoring, and identifying novel therapeutic targets for hypertension and diabetes through integrative genomics.
Active in major collaborative initiatives including the BHF Centre for Research Excellence 2024-2029 and NIHR Manchester Biomedical Research Centre.
