معرفی
Andrew Lucas is an Associate Professor of Physics at the University of Colorado Boulder, specializing in theoretical and mathematical physics. His research bridges condensed matter physics, high energy physics, and quantum information, focusing on hydrodynamic behavior in quantum systems, quantum information scrambling, and holographic models. He leads the Lucas theory group, which has pioneered studies on fracton hydrodynamics and the breakdown of hydrodynamics in constrained systems.
Key achievements include winning the AFOSR Young Investigator Award (2023), NSF CAREER Grant (2021), and the George E. Valley Jr. Prize (2022). He collaborates with experimental groups to explore hydrodynamic regimes in graphene and quantum error correction codes. Notable grants include a $3M Heising-Simons Foundation grant for holographic quantum gravity studies and a $1.2M DOE award for quantum computing research.
His work on locality bounds in quantum dynamics and Lieb-Robinson bounds has advanced understanding of quantum information propagation. He actively teaches graduate courses in classical mechanics, hydrodynamics, and algebraic topology in physics, emphasizing interdisciplinary approaches. Recent publications explore entanglement dynamics, quantum error correction, and emergent symmetries in many-body systems.
