Professor Andrew Lowe is currently affiliated with Khalifa University as a Professor of Polymer Chemistry. He previously held academic positions at Curtin University, University of New South Wales (UNSW), and the University of Southern Mississippi, where he advanced from Assistant Professor to Full Professor. His research focuses on controlled polymer synthesis and modification techniques, with applications in water-soluble and stimulus-responsive materials.
Education:
- BSc (Hons) in Chemistry (1993), University of Sussex
- DPhil (1997), University of Sussex
- DSc (2009), University of Sussex
Research Interests: Professor Lowe specializes in controlled polymerization methods such as RAFT, ROMP, and Rh-mediated techniques, alongside thiol-X click chemistries. His work bridges polymer synthesis, organometallic catalysis, and the design of organic-inorganic hybrid materials for advanced applications.
Scientific Achievements:
- Awarded an ARC Future Fellowship
- Ranked in the top 0.2% of Stanford University's most-cited authors (2023), with over 140 publications and an h-index of 71
