Andrew Linke is an Associate Professor at the School of Environment, Society & Sustainability, University of Utah. His research bridges political geography, climate-conflict dynamics, and geospatial data integration. Over his career, he has led studies on drought impacts, agricultural employment shifts, and political violence, with a focus on sub-Saharan Africa and post-Soviet regions.
His recent work explores climate adaptation in conflict zones, emphasizing the need for climate-centered solutions and community-led strategies. He co-developed the Armed Conflict Location and Event Dataset (ACLED) and contributed to geospatial methodologies like geomerge.
Scientific Awards:
- Distinguished Contribution to Scholarship Article Award (2024, American Sociological Association)
- Stanley T. Brunn Junior Scholar Award (2019, American Association of Geographers)
