Dr. Andrew Hill is a Principal Research Fellow at the Minerals Industry Safety and Health Centre, affiliated with the School of Psychology and Faculty of Engineering, Architecture and Information Technology at The University of Queensland. His work spans interdisciplinary domains including human factors, road safety, medical psychology, and mining automation.
Research interests include:
- Hazard Perception in drivers
- Medical Ergonomics focused on patient safety tools
- Human-Machine Interaction in high-stakes environments
- Neurocognitive Effects of substances on driving
- Functional Neurological Disorders and mobility
Recent publications analyze cannabis effects on driving cognition, 3D display distortions in surgery, and mining safety indicators. His work has been supported by National Road Safety Action Grants, ARC Discovery Projects, and industry partnerships.
