Dr Andrew Gleason is an Adjunct Associate Professor in the Department of Neuroscience at Monash University. He holds roles as Head of Aged Psychiatry Research at Alfred Health, Senior Specialist in Neuropsychiatry at Calvary Healthcare Bethlehem, and runs an outreach clinic for Huntington’s disease in Northern Tasmania. He leads the psychopharmacology stream at the Monash Alfred Psychiatry Research Centre and oversees clinical trials for Alzheimer’s therapies.
Education: MBBS (Honours) from University of Sydney, advanced training in neuropsychiatry (Royal Melbourne Hospital), and old age psychiatry specialization. He co-authored A Primer of Clinical Psychiatry (2nd ed) and was recognized for medical teaching excellence.
Research focuses on psychopharmacology in aging populations, cognitive neuroscience applications, and clinical trials for neurodegenerative diseases. He led the ADVANCE project evaluating agitation-centered dementia care (2019).
