Andrew Foy

Andrew Foy is a Professor of Geospatial Science at Radford University and Director of its GIS Center. He holds a Ph.D. in Geospatial and Environmental Analysis from Virginia Tech. His research focuses on improving geospatial data fusion, uncertainty analysis, and GIS applications in natural resources and urban planning. He leads a university-city internship program employing students in municipal GIS projects, including emergency response and utility management.

Education: B.S. and M.S. in Geography (university unspecified), Ph.D. in Geospatial and Environmental Analysis (Virginia Tech).

Research interests include spatial statistics, biogeography, and WebGIS programming. He uses LIDAR to create 3D campus models for facilities and academic use. Active in the Virginia Geographic Information Network and NRV Hazard Mitigation Plan Steering Committee.
