Indiana University–Purdue University Indianapolisمعرفی
Dr. Andrew D. Miller is Associate Professor and Chair of Human-Centered Computing at Indiana University's Luddy School of Informatics, Computing, and Engineering. His NSF CAREER-funded research develops social computing technologies supporting family resilience during pediatric health crises. He employs pervasive technologies to create new forms of social support in clinical, home, and community settings.
Research examines care coordination systems, family adaptive systems during hospitalization, and technology-mediated social support. Current projects investigate caregiving coordination journeys in pediatric oncology, shared decision-making tools for urology care, and clinical communication applications.
Publications demonstrate evolution from foundational social computing studies to specialized healthcare applications, with increasing focus on participatory design methods and longitudinal interventions. Recent work emphasizes family-centered design frameworks and resilience-based approaches to health technology.
Professional service includes program committees for ACM CHI and CSCW conferences. Teaching includes Interaction Design Practice and Informatics Research Design. Previously held positions at University of Washington School of Medicine and National Library of Medicine postdoctoral fellowship.
