Andrew Caines is a Research Fellow at the Computer Laboratory, University of Cambridge, and a member of the NLIP Group and ALTA Institute. He works on computational linguistics, second language learning, and low-resource NLP with applications in educational technology and cybersecurity.
- Current projects include hate speech detection, LLM-based grammatical error correction, and machine translation for African languages
- Collaborations with Cambridge Cybercrime Centre and Cambridge Language Sciences interdisciplinary center
