Andrew C. Willford is a Professor of Anthropology at Cornell University, affiliated with the College of Arts and Sciences. His work focuses on sociocultural and political anthropology, particularly psychological and phenomenological aspects of selfhood, identity, and subjectivity within power structures. He has conducted extensive research on Tamil communities in Malaysia and India, exploring displacement, identity politics, and urban transformation. His recent projects include studies on mental health and neurology in India and North America, funded by Fulbright and AIIS fellowships. He co-founded the Cornell-Keystone Nilgiris Field Learning Center, emphasizing interdisciplinary collaboration with indigenous communities.
