Andrew C. Butler is a Professor in the Department of Education and holds a courtesy appointment in the Department of Psychological & Brain Sciences at Washington University in St. Louis. He directs the St. Louis Translational Fellows in Education program and teaches courses on the intersection of psychological science and education.
He holds a PhD from Washington University in St. Louis.
His research focuses on the malleability of memory, including how retrieval processes affect memory content and phenomenological characteristics. Key interests include higher-order learning, error correction, self-regulation, and the interplay between learning and motivation.
