معرفی
Dr Andrew Brown is an Associate Professor in the School of Mathematics and Physics at Queen's University Belfast, leading research in ultrafast laser-atom interactions using advanced computational methods. He is affiliated with the Centre for Light-Matter Interaction and the Centre for Quantum Materials and Technologies. His work focuses on developing the R-matrix with time dependence (RMT) code to study multielectron dynamics in intense laser fields.
Research Interests: Dr. Brown's research explores attosecond-scale electron dynamics, including photoionization, high-harmonic generation, and quantum interference effects. He emphasizes sustainable software development in computational physics through his EPSRC Research Software Engineering Fellowship. His projects include the UK Atomic, Molecular and Optical R-matrix consortium (UK AMOR) and the Atomic and Molecular Physics Gateway.
Key Achievements: He has supervised multiple PhD students and contributed to landmark studies on electron correlation, spin polarization, and attosecond metrology. His awards include the Best Student Poster (2011) and Best Student Speaker (2012). Recent work includes resolving quantum interference via attosecond spectroscopy and enhancing computational tools for atomic physics.
Advising & Grants: Current advisees include Lynda Hutcheson and Luke Roantree. Notable grants include the EPSRC-funded UK AMOR consortium (2019-ongoing) and R-matrix Suites for Multielectron Attosecond Dynamics (2017-2020). He is a board member of the Atomic and Molecular Physics Gateway and co-organizes the Quantum Battles in Attoscience conference.
Labs/Teams: Active in the RMT project, collaborating with institutions worldwide. His software development efforts aim to ensure long-term scientific impact through sustainable computational tools.
