Andrew Bagshaw

Andrew Bagshaw is Professor of Imaging Neuroscience at the University of Birmingham's Centre for Human Brain Health (CHBH) within the School of Psychology. He leads the Multimodal Integration Group (MIG) and actively supervises PhD students in neuroimaging research.

His primary research focuses on developing combined EEG-fMRI methodologies for precise spatial-temporal localization of brain activity. Key research areas include:

• EEG-fMRI integration for studying epilepsy and sleep disorders
• Response covariability analysis in single-trial paradigms
• Independent component analysis for data quality improvement
• Information theory applications in multimodal data integration
• Structural-functional imaging correlations with neuropsychological testing

His recent publications (2024-2025) demonstrate continued focus on sleep neuroscience, ADHD mechanisms, traumatic brain injury biomarkers, and functional connectivity analysis. Current research examines sleep deprivation effects on neural networks, ADHD-related white matter properties, and longitudinal sleep-self-harm relationships in adolescents.
